II how it runs

Three steps. About 24 hours from form to reply.

We do the work of figuring out which AWS programs you qualify for and getting them approved. You tell us what you're building and check your AWS account when the credits land.

01

Tell us what you're building.

A 90-second form. Where you're at, what you're building, how to reach you. No technical questions, no AWS knowledge required. We use it to figure out which credit programs fit you before anyone gets on a call.

02

We qualify you in 24 hours.

A real human reviews it the same day. Within 24 hours you get a reply telling you exactly which credits you qualify for and how much. No automated forms, no auto-responders, no chasing.

03

Credits land in your AWS account.

We apply for every program you qualify for and AWS funds them. You get the credits as a balance in your AWS account, ready to burn down against your usage. You pay $0 — no setup fee, no platform fee, no invoice ever.

III the credit landscape

Five programs. Most founders only know about the first.

The credit page you found on Google lists the first one. The other four aren't public — different applications, much bigger ceilings. Stacking them is how founders end up with $150K–$200K of free AWS runway. We figure out which ones apply to you and submit them all in one go.

how to read this

The DIY tier is what AWS shows the public. The other four aren't visible without an existing AWS relationship — that's the whole reason CloudRoute exists. We figure out which programs fit, file the applications, and stack what AWS allows. A typical funded startup also building with AI ends up around $150K–$200K.

IV what this looks like

Three founders, three routes, three AWS-funded outcomes.

Composite cases from the first cohort, anonymized. Real-name stories replace these as founders consent. The shapes are accurate — what each persona actually looks like when the routing works.

eu · series-a saas · heroku → awsillustrative
Series-A B2B SaaS in Berlin, 22 engineers, $9K/mo on Heroku Enterprise, growing 18% MoM. EU data residency on the contract.
→ where they were

Our Heroku bill was about to clear $130K annual and we had a Series-B narrative to land. The CTO had quoted us 4 engineering months for a self-run migration; nobody had those months. We'd talked to one Big-3 consultancy and bounced — they wanted $180K minimum to start.

→ who we routed to

Routed to a Frankfurt-based Advanced partner with SaaS migration specialty and existing EU-region builds.

→ what landed

Production cutover at week 9. ECS Fargate + Aurora Postgres + multi-AZ. AWS funded the engagement under MAP — we paid the partner $0 for delivery. Heroku bill went to $0 by month 2. New AWS run-rate landed 62% below Heroku, with $80K of base credits absorbing the first 9 months.

aws funding into account$140,000
Series-B narrative landed with "infra costs down 62% YoY" as a slide.

I budgeted 4 engineering months for this and gave up 6 hours total. The partner did the work, AWS paid for it, our bill dropped. I keep waiting for the catch.

CTO
us · ai team · bedrock + claude in 3 weeksillustrative
Seed-stage AI legal-tech in NYC, 6 engineers, $3.2K/mo on OpenAI direct, 4 weeks to a high-stakes design-partner demo.
→ where they were

We'd shipped a demo on OpenAI direct in a weekend. Production was a different animal — no fallback model, no eval pipeline, no IAM story, and the design partner's security review was going to ask all of those questions. Our team had never touched Bedrock.

→ who we routed to

Routed to a US East Coast Advanced partner with Bedrock + RAG specialty (had shipped 4 production Claude builds in the prior 12 months).

→ what landed

Claude Sonnet + Llama 3 fallback live on Bedrock in 19 days. Eval harness wired into CI by day 22. Prompt caching cut inference cost ~40%. $100K of partner-filed credits secured — covers projected inference through next fundraise. OpenAI direct billing: turned off.

aws funding into account$100,000
Design partner security review: passed on first submission.

We weren't going to learn Bedrock + IAM + eval ops in three weeks. The partner did it in front of us, documented the IaC, and the credits paid for the next year of inference. Worth every email.

Founding Engineer
us · pre-seed · stacked creditsillustrative
Pre-seed AI infra startup, 3 founders, no AWS account, raising a $2.5M seed round in the next 90 days. Had a Claude-on-OpenRouter prototype and a long backlog.
→ where they were

I knew AWS credits existed. I knew Bedrock POC credits existed somewhere. I had no idea how to file for either and didn't want to waste my one shot on the wrong track. I also didn't want to spend my next 8 weeks figuring out AWS account setup instead of building the product investors were funding.

→ who we routed to

Routed to a small US-based Select partner with founders-track credit experience and a track record on early-stage GenAI builds.

→ what landed

Partner filed founders-track + GenAI POC in week 1. $100K base + $25K GenAI POC approved 11 days later. Production AWS account live in week 3, Claude on Bedrock wired in with prompt caching. I spent 32 minutes total on credit paperwork.

aws funding into account$125,000
$125K of credit-funded runway · zero hours on AWS sales calls.

The credits doubled our seed round in effective runway. The setup work happened in parallel while I was on the road raising. I never spoke to AWS once.

V faq

Things people ask.

Wait — is this actually free for me? What's the catch?

Yes, free. AWS funds the credit programs because they want startups on AWS long-term. We do the work of qualifying you for the right programs and getting them approved. You get the credits in your AWS account. We earn separately on the back-end, so you never see an invoice — no setup fee, no platform fee, no commission, nothing.

How do credits actually land in my AWS account?

We submit your application directly to AWS — you don't go through the public credit form. AWS reviews, approves, and applies the credits as a balance on your AWS account. They burn down as you use AWS services. Total of your time involved: about 30 minutes across two weeks.

I'm not a startup. Can I still get credits?

Yes — if you're building anything that runs (or could run) on AWS, you likely qualify. Bootstrapped, pre-seed, seed, Series A, AI teams, teams switching cloud providers, teams modernizing legacy systems — all eligible. The form takes 90 seconds. We tell you within 24 hours whether you qualify and for how much.

Why work with you instead of going to AWS direct?

Two reasons. First, the public AWS credit page only lists the $1K–$5K tier — the bigger programs ($50K, $100K, $150K) aren't visible without an existing relationship. Second, AWS sales is built for $1M+ enterprise deals, so a 10-engineer startup typically won't get a useful response. We handle both: getting you into the right programs and getting them approved fast.

How long does the whole thing take?

Form to qualification: 24 hours. Qualification to credits in your AWS account: typically 2–4 weeks (AWS does the actual approval). You can start using the credits as soon as they're applied. The biggest time-sink isn't paperwork — it's waiting on AWS, and we manage that for you.

Do I need to know anything about AWS or cloud architecture?

No. The form has zero technical questions. You don't need to know what region to pick, what services you'll use, or what your "workload profile" is. Tell us what you're building in plain English and we figure out the rest.

I'm an AWS partner — where do I sign up?

Different motion entirely. The partner side is at /partners — application form, membership pricing, commission structure, and the 90-day routed-lead guarantee.

$150K is on the table.

90-second form. Real reply from a vetted AWS partner within 24 hours. AWS pays them; you pay $0.
